Happy Friday Barboppenheimer day?
Today's journal subject line is the face I make at Ty's recovering face. So. I had an epic series of Parenting & Daughtering on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and also Wednesday.
Sunday - went to Salem Mass (the place with the witch trials) in a near hurricane with meg, mom, & bonus kid whose request it was. We actually did fine getting along, meg got overwhelmed by some jumpy pugs whose toenails scratched her, saw some witch stuff but mostly drove around to see the things because rain. It was a stupidly long drive because of the rain; normally it's only 2 hours away?
Monday - mom's cataract surgery, also 2 hours away in Massachusetts but a different part. She was anxious. It was fine.
Tuesday - Ty major dentist appointment with some sedation (awake but chill) and 6 fillings or something. Here's where the 0_0 face comes in - while numb, ty was like how weird I can't feel my lips, I'm going to pick at them and bite them. Reader. It became a horror show around 7 pm when BLOOD and then later on the novocaine wore off and PAIN.
Wednesday - continued ty aftermath. He has a deep wound in his lip, but we did get it checked out. Just needs an antibiotic rinse and not stiches. It's healing, and turning white, which is gross. His lip is still very swollen altogether. He was also still kinda recovering from lorazepam so his mood wasn't quite normal yet.

So, that's kinda where I'm at. Some job stuff is happening (like me being more of a PR person than I have been) and hopefully i can do what needs to be done. They did inform me they'll pay me for my summer time which is good for sure.
Speaking of PR, i added another commitment, like an idiot; I agreed to do Facebook for the rotary club I'm in. (Oh, fun note: rotary met at a quarry last night. Literally. We talked about rocks and machines, and I NEARLY rode in a bulldozer of some kind but chickened out about being the adult to do that in front of other adults).
I spent some time at work yesterday trying to organize and collate. So my non-work, non-parenting things right now are only rotary and sneaker brigade (i'm trying to do the service projects for them). And helping Mady. THat's not so bad, but it does mean to be very careful about joining anything else and to hesitate before taking things on.
This yea at school I'm also going to coordinate all the supplemental food things with the food bank, and I've talked about implementing a robotics program and a service club, but I might need to PICK ONE of those, which sucks.
Anyway. It's raining again and I'm hoping roads stay the same and not worse. I'm headed back to cleveland on Tuesday and staying at a downtown syracuse marriott on Tuesday night, and arriving back home on wed :). Taking 2 cars - dan driving straight through on Wed. It's a "Family Trip to See Family" so i think there will be some challenges, and I am going to have to take some work meetings while out there, but I can handle a little bit of google meet.
