Project Homeover:

Besides the whole chaos of 'meg is at a new school' and figuring out transportation, and 'i'm making a christmas,' is that we're continuing to plod forward with selling our house. 

Step 1 accomplished - realtor came over yesterday and gave us tasks and a ballpark of what we can probably sell for if we do our homework.

That value gives me data to figure out a down payment and appropriate Buying Power/how expensive of a house are we looking at.

i should talk with dan to come up with a deadline to finish the Tasks and to Take The Pictures so we can proceed.  We could move fast if we needed to, but we don't need to. (sometimes that's easier).

we're also going to be Very Picky. I suspect whatever we do will be our penultimate house :)

End of year craic:

Apple music replay and spotify wrapped!
Both are decent this year.  I use spotify at work and use a playlist that's very neutral if people are going to be coming in; that didn't seem to affect things too much except that my top song is 'right here right now' by jesus jones.

One year Spotify invented unhinged genres for people but I didn't see that - I just got 'collector.'

I'm going to Providence next weekend for a word-of-the-year workshop as usual - that'll be nice. I overhyped it in my head last year.

Color of the year: 2025 pantone was disappointing, but the palettes were better - i should have given them a chance.  This year's is about the same:    Pantone Color of the Year 2026, PANTONE 11-4201 Cloud Dancer, a lofty white that serves as a symbol of calming influence in a society rediscovering the value of quiet reflection. A billowy white imbued with serenity, PANTONE 11-4201 Cloud Dancer encourages true relaxation and focus, allowing the mind to wander and creativity to breathe, making room for innovation.  (I like the tropical palette.)

Here's one that's better - Transformative Teal   - Discover WGSN and Coloro’s Colour of the Year for 2026, Transformative Teal. A fluid fusion between dependable dark blue and aquatic green, this is the colour for a period of change and redirection. 

I like color of the year because I noticed once upon a time that my wardrobe was kind of Doing a color of the year all on its own (and it rarely had anything to do with these).  Oh well. I basically just love colors so even if white (and its predecessor brown) are BORING it's fine.

Shows: 
Have been rewatching season 18 ? of Taskmaster - the one with Fern Brady.  They're all very funny and likeable that season, but Fern is by far the funniest -she has the best reaction noises, really great ideas for creative tasks, etc.   For some reason her accent makes everything extra fun.
