trying to Acquire some Chill
Dec. 4th, 2025 09:48 amhello!
this week megaliz started at her new school and it's going ...hopefully. Her attitude is great. She is optimistic but realistic (usually she gets sky-high hopes that crash). she likes the kids and teachers better and is less overwhelmed.
transportation is Complicated, but we're slowly figuring it out.
I'm re-listening to Gullstruck Island -one of my favorite books. I've read maybe 4 by Frances Hardinge - Fly by Night is also my favorite book. Deeplight was amazing too. They're consistently well-written, weird AF, and satisfying. (And other words). This sounds like a dream I would have but here are things involved in it: Colonists and natives, disability/caregiver representation, volcanoes, possibly volcanic gods, psychics, murder and conspiracy, revenge, fussy bureaucrats with heart of gold, is-she/isn't-she mystery, greed, ashes of the dead, tradition/superstition/magic and the blurred lines of them. I am curious if there are problematic bits in it that I don't realize are problematic. Hope not.
i wonder if stress can make your eyelashes fall out, i just had 3 on my cheek. oh well.
I've been trying to tell myself to chill tf out - that I'm probably doing fine at work and life and parenting. It's hard and complicated and doing my best is probably good enough and when it's not we will deal with that.
That's enough writing for now.
