alicevangeline Work continues to be 'the busy season' and I'm staying late most nights. I could get overtime, but I'd rather make my hours balance (meaning leave a little early or take time to go to a parent meeting without using pto.)
things like: open enrollment, contracts for renewing people, contracts for new hires for next year, and communicating with soon-to-be-retirees or recently-retireds about health insurance, posting positions when people don't renew their contract, and the cycle continues.
Boss is of limited help because people are misbehaving (or, someone claims they're misbehaving) and he has to Deal With That. Also he's the sort of fella that had people to rotate the pdfs for him. I'm exaggerating but only by a little.
I scheduled the photo people to pick up photo albums & slides to do a quote about digitizing. Meanwhile dan is like, for that money I'll guy us a good scanner with autofeed and do it myself. In my head I'm like, no you won't, and am swiftly pivoting to 'megan wants to make money this summer let's make her do it.' He doesn't want to spend the money on it, but again, I don't want to have to Deal with Photo Albums Forever, so there we are.
T got his Cap n Gown, and also senior cords for completing a CTE program!
I had made a big stupid googleform (I'm never going to say big beautiful again! stupid politics). So it goes like this: based on your department and your hours, and what kind of coverage you want (0, 1, 2, or more covered), it gives you what your options & pricing will be, allows you to upload a verification & sign off on the T&C. It's pretty good on the front end.
It's EW on the back end. I realized along the building process that the response spreadsheet was going to be a bitch, going on sideways for a hundred columns. I thought pivot tables might solve it, but that was becoming a pain in the ass as well and for an unknown quantity of usefulness I didn't want to troubleshoot it. So instead we're filtering and scrolling sideways to the correct section, then filtering a different group and scrolling sideways to a different section, and copy/pasting all the data into a more palatable spreadsheet. It's not a great solution but it works.
