Right now we're at:
- set up a meeting for mom's bank to call me back, they were supposed to have legal review if they needed embossed copy of cert of appointment
- some annuity company owes me a phone call from last week or before. I called them again this morning and they said they have someone working on it. sure jan
- I have an invoice from the estate law firm unopened (it wasn't much)
- I started a spreadsheet of creditors; they have 6 months to get everything in then i pay it out of her bank account if i can
- which I doubt, because the balance of the car was about 3k, and I doubt there was that much in her bank account
- which brings me back to, talk to the bank
- begin untangling postmortem payments that shouldn't have gone out
----
On the other hand, my uncle Johnny who passed in 2023 - my aunt administered his estate, and he split everything between his siblings and their heirs. 8 siblings (one other with no heirs that predeceased him), so actually it turns out each of us cousins inherits a little bit ('couple thousand' says Aunt E). I miss uncle johnny and this was nice of him. It's weird to talk about but it's an unexpected and pleasant surprise.
---
One more on this topic: crossword clue that rang a bell but I couldn't get it without like, 3 of the letters - "the First Estate" - 6 letters. Do you know it? (I can reply with the answer in a bit)
oh also! Crosswords! I learned a new skill in the WSJ app - how to do multiple-letters in one box - they call that a rebus. Finally learned how to do it without 'reveal square.'
