Could be worse!

So Friday I had a little cry at work, but one thing is that I'm more prone to doing that when I'm a) exhausted and b) fighting a germ.
Got my act back together, took car for a wash (because I'd driven through a puddle of oil and it reeked) and got food because I also hadn't eaten lunch and then took the family for a Christmas Light Drive with McDonalds.
But saturday i woke up going ewwwww/ughhhh. I think I've had the first covid vaccines and a booster but not one this year. I've never tested positive for Covid although the kids have had it.
The germ went like this:
Saturday, day 1: crispy throat, chills & fever of 100. Couldn't 'get warm.' Had hot water bottles. Lots of icky sleep. Fever dream featured bernie sanders and Fred Savage. (tested positive for covid). Somehow made croissants (mostly I supervised!)
Sunday, day 2: Mostly less fevery, more sore throat and cough, headache. Some chills. Lots of napping. I made a marinara sauce (dumping things into a saucepan) and heated up manicotti and garlic bread from freezer for dinner. Soooo thirsty.
Monday, Krima, day 3: Generally pretty joyful. I had to be careful about moving around too much to not get winded, but kids were present elves. Kids were very happy, my mom wore her mask and she was very happy, dan started coming down with something. He's been testing negative, but has 'something.' Bear in mind Meg is STILL sick from beginning of month. Mostly it's just a painful cough that's not going away.
Me, mostly sore throat and used a pack of tissues.
Made the other half of croissants which isn't that tiring - flatten, cut, roll, wait, wait, bake. Keep the tips on the bottom or they become silly.
Movies watched:
Noelle
Spirited
Mickey's Christmas Carol
Muppet Christmas Carol
Candy Cane Lane (only half of it, it's fine)
Yesterday, Tuesday, day 4:
Kids grumpy/moody (I think from the comedown plus, we had a Sort Of White Christmas because of fog. It's been warm and rainy and misty. Which is annoying). My throat and nose are raw.
Discovered I can't smell oranges or the christmas tree :(. Here's hoping that returns sometime.
Today, Wednesday, day 5:
Feeling a lot improved, like having a crummy cold, but not as weak or fevery. Still drinking all the water. - Meg got Air Up water for christmas (from me. i got it for her.) but it's not as good as advertised, she tells me, and I really want to try it. But I cannot.
Weak voice, kinda dry nose and throat, as you'd expect.
--
Dan figures he would already have gotten it from sleeping next to me before I tested positive and that me isolating further is a lost cause. I do not know where any clean masks are - meg has been wearing a couple because of her cough. I worked closely with someone on Wednesday who then tested positive later that day. Ty has a stomachache but he ate like 3 apples yesterday and I don't think you're supposed to do that - "AN apple a day keeps the doctor away," is the phrase, but like more than that and the pectin might back you up.
Dan's work requires a Doctor's Note for a sick day, so he's just working away in his room coughing, mom is wearing a mask when she's around me.

So that's the Covid Christmas update. As I say, could be worse. Could be better though!
