the most necessary weekend
May. 20th, 2024 07:36 amI told therapist I needed 6 hours of watching movies and to go to a chinese buffet with dan - she said 'do something nourishing for you'.
So we did!
- chinese buffet friday night
- took ty to grocery saturday morning and then dan to a garden open house saturday afternoon, followed by meg to "IF" at the movies saturday night
- eventually took both kids to the trampoline park on sunday :) And trampoline park means you gotta wrap it up with fro-yo.
- in between, played lots of hello kitty mobile game (the only downside is that sometimes you have to wait till the next real day to do quests)
I did not, ultimately, watch 6 hours of movies, but I did watch one, and did physical activity,
Garden Open House - it's this guy's house, and he has open garden weekends, and also the surrounding property is nature trails and stuff. he created a nonprofit and volunteer network to go along with it. It could be weird but it isn't really, it's just lovely. The man is very nice and hardworkng and he appreciates what he has and wants to share it. the house isn't a mansion, it's just very nice. (i did spy a hammock in a screened porch - be still my heart) (Distant Hill)
IF - if you've seen the trailers, you have an idea about it. If not, it's a very cute PG movie about imaginary friends featuring a very cute ryan reynolds. It's a comedy, but it's also a kids' movie, and imaginary friends have children who grow up, and so of course I cried a lot about things like that guy is having an anxiety attack and his IF gives him a big hug and tells him everything will be okay, and that kid grew up because of sadness. Etc. Even meg teared up. But it has a happy ending and is overall very joyful to watch.
Ty at the grocery store is a chill time because it's easier to get down to his speed - you know how when computers are doing a LOT they slow down? I think that might be a good description of the guy, whom you can't rush. He likes to go down the chip aisle to check and see what they got, and select his own very perfect apples, Etc. He likes to thank the workers although they don't usually realize he's talking to them. I tend towards the frantic so it's nice to be on Ty Time.
Also did a little laundry, a little cleaning (not much tbh), a little bills organizing.
