I started to write a draft of a blog entry here, got about 2 sentences in and then got a call that Ty was in risk-assessment for self-harm, i hadn't seen my personal email that said 'take me home or I might kms'. VPrincipal said protocol is to offer going home or keep at school. I offered a Secret Third Thing which was that I was down the hall, ostensibly working (but lazily because of the 12 hr day I'd put in on Wednesday, and lazily with permission from boss to 'take it easy'). Which is why I was writing.
Anyway T & crisis counselor and I had a chat, I tried to have my role as translator for when T mumbled or sobbed too much, or when Crisis Counselor used too many words and T zoned out partway thru. Then I walked him to his classroom, stayed a little longer and he talked with his teacher/case manager about his angst, and then I got my laptop out to 'work' while they were talking so I could disengage, then I left and he was saying don't go, but teacher said it's ok we got this. So I got a sandwich, pulled some of my outdated flyers down, and went home and fell asleep.
start of blog post:
I was in a meeting with the Leadership Team, and said, "I have an idea, but I'm not sure if it's wacky or worth consideration." The team prompted me to share it, and expressed some of their concerns, but as the idea popped into my brain so did some of the drawbacks and some ways to mitigate them.
--- pattern recognition
- getting the right people to talk to each other to create something larger
- aiding in creating an atmosphere of idea-sharing and question-asking
that's enough for now.
