nice things
Nov. 22nd, 2022 08:40 amIt looks like my contract says I only have thanksgiving off, not the other days, but my boss says she looked it up and I only have to do one more work-day than the teaching people (like, christmas week or something). I want to do the correct thing, but I'm going to take wed-fri off for the first time in a while, and it seems like that will be okay. So that's a nice thing. Even if it's a mistake and I don't get paid for wed/fri, it'll be okay.
I finished my intake paperwork for the women's counseling center and am scheduling appt 1 - i MIGHT have a conflict with the first available date, i have something on my calendar penciled in that I CAN miss, so I'm just trying to decide whether to take that one or another bc in all honesty it would be the best one for me.
I realized I needed to actually physically get a turkey and I didn't want to drive down to the big fancy co-op (as opposed to the local cute one) for pickup on wednesday after all. Almost went to ye olde grocery store for a cheap frozen bird but realized, 'you know what, this special farmer's market i like is only 3 miles from the boring store and I may not have time for proper thawing for a frozen' so I went there. I ordered an Organic Local Turkey (small) for pickup on wednesday. It's only half-way as far as the Fancy Co-Op, and it's a pleasant shop. I don't think the market 1 mile from my house has turkey but if i need other meat or veg I'll be there.
I did get a bag of Enchilada Soup mix for the leftover turkey meat, and rolls I popped in the freezer to keep fresh, and cheese curds :)
I am simultaneously proud of and concerned for meg because ty had a freakout on sunday over showering and she was worried, i think, so she told me, FYI, ty and i both think you're the best mom ever. I am proud of her compassion but concerned that it probably 'got to her' and she needed to 'peacemake' or something.
but it goes on the nice list.
I had been trying to reduce my coffee intake a little and i made a difference! I used to be for sure 5 cups a day and now I'm 3. AND! I will continue decreasing, i think.
Also. I am wearing my favorite shirt today. It's a navy & white flannel shirt, but with rose embroidery at the collar, and a flared waist to make it 'fancy' and pretty. I once said that i'd love to dress like a horse girl - meaning flannels, boots, jeans - and it's comfy and looks pretty.
not sure if i told you this one, but I was wearing my orange & purple flannel one day and said 'meg do I look a little gay in this ' and she told me 'you always look kinda gay but it doesn't matter anyway what you look like, dress for you' and that is NEARLY word for word. I think we were getting away from gay fashion stereotypes for a while but now I kind of feel like they're back and classified in memes.
Anyway, here's to looking a little gay and it not mattering
