honestly it makes sense
Jan. 20th, 2022 02:20 pmI've had a dull headache on the right side all day long, and I slept better than expected, but both kids home sick today, mom took pippi to the vet for burial, and work is whatever.
Kids have headaches/drippy noses/lightheaded. I have dissonance between Inner Critic shouting "you're too nice, you need to send these kids to school, in my day we had to suck it up" and my rational brain calmly responding: "not only is it a pandemic wherein they could get sicker, and they should rest anyway even if it's just a cold, but also they're not ALLOWED to go to school unless you break the rules. AND we got close-contact notifications. You KNOW they're not faking and you're aware of the degree they can exaggerate (not that much. They're not good at it.) Stay calm, say whatever, and call them in sick."
