badass women
Mar. 29th, 2019 10:38 amok we are all drawn to badass women. I was thinking about how some of my best girlfriends ...don't have a lot of girlfriends for various reasons.
Annette hides out when she's depressed, puts on a brave mask, and doesn't want help from anyone (although she'll take it if offered. You have to coax her out of her shell like offering a bunny a carrot). The more scared she is the more hot-stuff she acts and I love her for it, it's her own special vulnerbility. In high school this was mostly flirty. She's also, on the other hand, one of the most loyal supportive friends evar.
Katrina is loud, swears like a trucker, speaks her mind, loves to laugh, but LOVES fiercely and she too has her own big fears. She finallllly said yes to her boyfriend. We were laughing about how her baby registry was for 2 of everything because they had separate houses and she was determined to keep it that way - until they left the hospital. Then they had another baby. And bought a house. And she finally agreed to marry him. She's also warm and very good at her job. I'm thinking about her fondly today because she finally agreed to the succession plan at her job - similar thing, where she was insisting she's not a boss but at the same time demonstrating she's ready by challenging decisions she doesn't agree with and telling me her strategies that she would do. She's just scared but she'll train & step up. I'm so excited for her and for her company. I love how she talks to Ty like she talks to everyone else and calls me to talk and laugh.
i love more wonderful girlfriends but i was noticing the crunchy exterior/squishy insides commonality with these two again :)
