- Civics 101 is entertaining and Good For You. They do episodes like 'what does the president actually DO' and 'the CPB and public broadcasting.' The title's correct because they break it down so it's understandable without being dry. I was looking at their staff bios this morning and said "haha nerds" in affection.
I am having trouble putting this into words: Like, even though they're neutral observers and explainers, I think sometimes being politically neutral is nearly impossible right now, and they're able to convey some of the problems inherent with Our Current Government, and speak to the NPR listening audience who is traditionally considered more left.
So. that's that. Also I think that it would be hard to actually understand government & history and NOT be horrified right now.

Also. Like. Are we supposed to try to carry on, business as usual, while the government is Doing What It's Doing?
I guess so. I guess that's where Keep Calm and Carry On came from originally. Unless we regular folks can come up with an effective way to resist. I've wondered if waiting it out will work: either all their allies will realize what a shitshow everything is and get rid of him/them, or 4 years will pass, or old age comes for us all, or we'll create so many enemies that THEY will get rid of him/them (meaning war or assassinations).

Back to podcasts.
NHPR also does a nice one called Outside/In and a short one called Something Wild. Something Wild is usually bird nerds (old guys who adore birdies). I linked a real slow pretty one just observing what late winter is like.
Outside/In does good stuff. It's a show about The Outdoors. It's got a vast range of topics therein; the first one I listened to was about Open Worlds in video games (like Skyim). https://outsideinradio.org/shows/open-worlds
