wish i had a machete

I've been in this kind of space before, with a 'newly-created position,' and it feels like walking through a thick jungle and you have to part the leaves a bit at a time to see the way. Normally you picture a dude swinging a machete to chop the leaves.
Oh, fun fact: I bought a machete in Borneo in 2001. It's super dull. I forgot I actually have that. Anyway.
Not feeling like I know what I'm doing, and that's not new. People are saying nice things, and that is a nice thing in itself.
I do know that I'm trying, that I'm getting some results even if they're not what anyone expected. I know that I will go sideways sometimes and I have to try not to get upset when that happens.
The other weird thing is trying to relax or work less hard and that is indeed a weird thing. I like the adulting memes that are like "I hope this is how it works and i'll keep doing it like this till someone yells at me."

I bought a green sparkly top for an upcoming holiday party - and a purse (Black Fuzzy Fur!)- and jewlery with powers :) Green onyx earrings, chalcedony choker, abalone bracelet - TJ Maxx. Each gemstone does a different thing, and I hope it's not like breath-of-the-wild where different effects cancel each other out!
I was interested in shoes, but their shoes sucked. I might have some nice shoes but honestly maybe i'll just go with tall boots and jeggings with my sparkly top.
