hangin in there

i keep trying to do stuff to diffuse stress or do self-care but then one little thing happens and i get all wound up and nervous again. I did wash and dry my hair and do actual makeup today and have a decent outfit on (navy corduroy pants, teal cardigan, clorful blouse) (makeup: slip tease in lowkey, kohl eyeliner, cityscapes shadow). I actually spent wayyyyyyyyy too much at target on the weekend - 2 shirts 2 pants (plus a sleep shirt that would be wearable in public, it's a lavender sweater that drapes pretty, nobody would ever know it's a sleepy shirt :) ) and i also got a fragrance set - even though with family sensory issues i generally avoid fragrances except hair products & lavender essential oil on my bracelet.

But my lil fragrance set is Queen Bee, FireCracker & Wild Child.

Fragrance notes of black currant, peony and amber make our Queen Bee rollerball perfume vibrant + bold with a touch of sass. /fresh

Fragrance notes of bergamot, coconut and bamboo make our Wild Child perfume mischievous + bright with looks to match.
Scent: Earthy

Fire cracker has no online description but i remember reading the 'notes' and it sounded like i'd like it. Vanilla & cinnamon or something. EDIT: It's "playful and vibrant with plenty of spark, with lotus, starfruit & vetiver." It kind of reminds me of cologne - prob the vetiver? - but oh well. ALSO i think they labelled these wrong, QB seems more earthy and ambery and Wild Child seems more fresh.


While i'm just talking about nice smells, i also sometimes wear this BreathTaking thing by Pacifica - including cardamon, vanilla, pepper and warm spices infused with rose quartz

feeling better about hiring someone

So, ok. One of my deals is apparently making the Right Decision, and sometimes there's no objective right, and sometimes I do hear from my gut but it gets mixed up with my heart or imagination or dad voice, or whatever. I'm better at listening to it, whatever it is.

So when it comes to hiring a person, not only are there 10 people I did NOT hire :( wah, but i also think about whether it's the right job desciription, salary, hours, person for the job, and right job for the person, and i had help with all of this - but "RIGHT" was stressing me out pretty badly last week.

After hanging out with the newbie, I'm coming to realize: they say 'you can train for skill but not attitude' and I think she's got a variety of skills, and honest to gosh, she is smart and kind. I will NEVER know if she was the absolute best person for the job and the culture. but, here's the thing, she will most likely be very good. I am going to let my guard down now about this and just go with it and then reflect back and see how it is going.
