I am not sure where that entry title came from, straight from the hippocampus I guess!
Doin ok. Dan ran 30 miles on Saturday so he was gone all day then he got sick and Sunday he was in bed all day. Fever of 100.5. He's not TOO whiny about it. I was probably worse when I had it. Of course, I had a flu shot, so I don't think I was as sick!
I was a madwoman this weekend in a good way. I did 2 loads of laundry and actually folded, sorted, and brought upstairs to respective bedrooms. Didn't put away, but I'm still proud. Also did 2 loads of dishes.
Dan's pet peeve is "dishes in the sink" but mine is "dishes everywhere else". I will move dishes to sink from stove if that's what it takes to cook, and, it does.
Also boxed up 2 boxes of baby toys & books. More to come I think. But I needed to do that in order to make room for the tree. Unless I just use my mom's tabletop tree and give up. So, lots of progress around the house, AND I played in a dress rehearsal and concert for a gospel choir. It was freakin awesome. Not perfect but awesome.
OH HOW I'VE GROWN. Things I couldn't process years ago, you know? I missed a couple entrances, flubbed a few notes, but overall I sounded good, and all of the above goes for the group too. It was so joyful, moving, just - a good time. I LOVE the arrangements, and my fellow orchestra peeps are so good. AND, this is pretty exciting, but I didn't warm up much or basically play for months, and I picked it up - warmed up some - and tootled through the whole thing like it was no big deal. Sight read 6 sharps with almost no problems :) What the hell, E sharp? My chops did NOT give out either.
I donated my paycheck for it back. Sure I could use the money but the spirit moved me, what can I say?
Also, I make fun of myself a lot for my choice of instruments. French horn. What the heck was I thinking? (I was thinking "they said it's hard and you get scholarships and I made a noise on it right away, let's go for it.")
But over the last year I've come to appreciate my own dang instrument after all. You can't have a good movie score without it, first of all. My mom always used to ask me if I had melody and now I realize that's sooo not the point - the instrument lines that horn gets the BEST basically season the dish. We're like salt. Enhances all the other flavor.
