actual Thing 2: had a talk this morning with Ty's team re him going back to school onsite 4 days a week. this would be unique for him; the other high schoolers are onsite twice weekly and friday is everyone's catchup day. My immediate reaction when this was proposed was HELL YES; Dan said 'can they do it safely', and my other reaction was 'i hope my mom doesn't feel slighted because she is working so gd hard.'
But otherwise: YES. YES, that's why i yelled at them in March that it was unacceptable and not working well. YES, half the reason i moved my mom up here (500 miles away) was to support Ty because i literally cannot be his remote learning support the way the school, or Ty, or I, need to be. If Ty has the right to a free & appropriate public education, then our remote work has not been appropriate for his needs. My mom kicks buttock though.
anywho it was a revelation to me that the reason they wanted him back is that he loses momentum with the hybrid alternating schedule. it's documented that he struggles with transitions. Yikes. They're more concerned about what he's doing At School than they are about his remote antics.
