alicevangeline: Transichor, name derived from "change" and "blood", is an eel with venom that can change your blood (not here not with me)

get sysyphus some grit

this is another one of those metaphorical things, bear with me:

A lot of the confusing nebulous prep work I've been doing at my job is beginning to take shape and move forward.  It is feeling like I'm moving a heavy boulder, slowly.   Like I'm pushing a lot of stuff, but not very far or very fast.

Similarly, I have a bigass Eval meeting for the boy today - every 3 years is an Evaluation update, and I've read the reports and they are exhausting and I want ice cream NAOW.   It is weird to see the 2 percentile on things.  And his academics for his grade level are now average instead of super ahead.   I'm bracing for that and it also feels like a big old boulder, a big heaviness that I will catch and deal with.

I was watching those icy roads last week, and honestly - if sysyphus had some grit on the road (sand/salt combo) it might have helped the boulder not fall back down.

Is that where that freakin term comes from?!?
